Sports Physiology
It is well known that athletic performance measurements can be extended and complex. The reproducible measurements are the foundation of single athletic assessment (SAA). There are more than ten different performance measurements which can be utilized during training. For the purposes of efficiency, let’s focus on the heart and autonomic nervous system and the measurement of those parameters which are of interest in SAA.
Cardiac Markers isn’t focused on the hardware of recording ECG. Instead, we have developed diagnostic software to better quantify the ECG measurements for the athletic trainers. Our VS 3.0 QTVariability Index software could possibly provide a better measurement of autonomic nervous system changes than the HRV currently being used for the physiology profile of an athlete. The QTVariability Index can be more accurate and a less variable measurement thus providing a better understanding of what is happening in the autonomic nervous system before and after an intense activity.
The Cardiac Markers VS 3.0 QTVariability Index software not only records the measurements of the QTVariability Index. It also measures HR, HRV: pNN50 and HRV: RMSSD, QTc, and PR Interval. The QTc measurement might be a useful tool to ensure a medication isn’t impacting the performance of the athlete.
Cardiac Markers believes the use of this VS 3.0 QTVariability Index software can bring better results than HRV.
